Cast Spotlight: Debbie Turner

Has it been a week already? I can't believe it! This week's Cast Spotlight is Debbie Turner. You can see her as Mom in "A Nice Family Gathering" in November. Here she is!

Tell us a bit about yourself!
I am a Mom of 3 grown sons, Nana to 5 and wife to Steve--not in that order.

What's a fun fact about yourself?
I clowned at a kids birthday parties years ago and I can't even blow up a balloon!

How did you get involved with the Powell Playhouse?
I love going to plays and was in several skits at White Stone Church. A friend at church asked me to audition for this one.

What is your favorite role you ever played and why?
I would say--Mom! That was what I played in church skits, this play, and real life!

What is your dream role and why?
Miss Hannigan in "Annie." (I have already bought tickets for my daughter-in-laws, myself, and four grandgirls to the Broadway play at the Tennessee in January!)

Cats or dogs?
Dogs--always Golden Retrievers until our latest which is a cocker mix--always rescue dogs.

Paper or plastic?
Plastic--I reuse them for poop--see last question!

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have three things, what would you bring?
Family, sunscreen, and flares for rescue.

I can't wait to see Debbie in this show! She's a mom and grandmother in real life so this role is perfect for her! Remember that you can comment on any blog post if you want a question answered by any of the cast members!

Stay tuned for another interview next week!
